Dear Friends,
We all should take pride in progress made by KSMD over the years. The free clinic near Kolar, the electronic library at Bangalore Medical College, the exchange program for physicians, and educational programs conducted by our physicians are just a few of our milestones. In addtion, KSMD has been a beneficial network for physicians in the US and abroad.
Though our programs and initiatives have met with success, there is still more work to do. During my presidency I would like us to embark on projects that serve the common man in Karnataka such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and HIV screenings. In conjuction with these initiatives, I would like us to all adopt a village to improve sanitation and provide pure drinking water.
For our membership, I would like to continue providing quality CME programs and facilitate in broadening our horizons by visiting new and interesting countries.
Perhaps people may think India doesn’t need help as India has made tremendous economic progress in recent years. However, this progress has not reached the remote villages and slums. We should not forget that we have moral obligation to serve our state and country. What part will you play in the future of KSMD? What will you do to help KSMD reach our goals? Is there anything you can do in the coming year? How can you improve membership? Remember you are a vital part of KSMD. With your active participation and service KSMD will stand tall and strong.
Best Regards,
Dr. G.M. Ramappa
