Dear Friends,

As the president of Karnataka State Medical and Dental Association, it is my privilege to present the president’s report. We had a very successful thirty-first annual convention at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey on October 8-10, 2010. KSMD has climbed steadily since its initiation in 1976 by Bangalore and Mysore medical graduates in Philadelphia. Under strong leadership of TKS Rao M.D, it has become a premier medical organization not only in the United States, but also beyond our shores.

Today other medical organizations look to us for our vision and value since we constantly deliver on our plans and promises. The competency and decisive delivery of my team and It would not have been possible without the remarkable grassroots support I have received from valued members like you.  I welcome you to browse our newly created world class KSMD website. Please spread the word and choose to become a life member.

Our major goals are to promote medical education and conduct medical/dental conferences in Karnataka, India. I would also like to start fully modernized interactive computer medical libraries in various medical colleges.

One medical library system has already been started in Bangalore Medical College under the leadership of past president, Dr. Ramakrishna. We have set up primary care clinics in Kolar and would like to expand to different rural areas of Karnataka. In addition, we would like to aid communities devastated by natural calamities and we plan to provide resources, support and assistance to young medical students, residents and fellows.

I have no doubt that in the years to come, KSMD will play an integral role in advancing the medical community of Karnataka. I urge everyone to become a patron member of KSMD at www.ksmd.org; it is easier than ever! And together we will fulfill the mission and objectives of KSMD.
